 Pinnacle Awards -- June Meeting

Each year, the Pinnacle Awards recognize the best public relations practices and tactics in the Hampton
Roads region. Two main categories for the Pinnacle competition: Public Relations Tactics and Public Relations Programs, divided by budget -­ $3,500 and above and $3,499 and below. In addition, an individual will be recognized for his or her professional achievements with the Lee Starkey Public Relations Professional of the Year Award.

Award recipients will be honored at this year’s Pinnacle Awards luncheon, Thursday, June 13, at the Holiday Inn Greenwich Road in Virginia Beach.

Remaining 2013 Meetings

Thursday, August 8: Capitalize on content creation with Anthony LaFauce and Kaitlin Bowen of Spectrum. They'll present how to create content for BOTH digital and traditional media to allow you to increase your footprint without increasing your budget at our luncheon meeting. LaFauce has spoken at national PRSA conferences.

Friday, September 13: Join us in the United Way Day of Caring by helping non-profit agencies with their public relations programs. Susan Mayo is putting together the plans and will be putting out the details soon.

Wed., October 9: Professional Development Conference. Fresh off the planning for a national conference, April Sciacchitano of CRT/Tanaka is spearheading plans for our chapter's annual conference. Stay tuned for details.

Thursday, November 7: National PRSA President Mickey Nall, partner at Ogilvy, presents to the membership luncheon to help celebrate our 30th anniversary and installation of officers.

These events take place at the Holiday Inn Va. Beach-Norfolk on Greenwich Road near Newtown Road.

PRSAHR: 30 years of value

Join us on Thursday, June 13 for the annual Pinnacle Awards ceremony. Not only are we recognizing our chapter members' best work, but we are also kicking off the PRSA Hampton Roads Chapter's 30th birthday.  

Chapter founding president and humorist Ken Wheeler will emcee this event. And most likely offer a funny anecdote or two.

The Pinnacle Awards celebration is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn on Greenwich. Luncheon costs are the same as for a regular meeting: $35 for members and Military; $45 for non-members; $26 for Students.   HOWEVER -- Early bird registration will save members and non-members $5 if you RSVP by close of business June 3.  Final registration deadline is COB, June 10.

Meal choices are Grilled chicken breast, topped with honey tarragon sauce, served with herb- flavored rice and seasonal vegetables.  Eggplant Parmesan, eggplant breaded and fried with mozzarella cheese and sauce, served with a side of pasta.

A gluten free meal choice is also available.
