Did you miss it?

September's chapter meeting titled "10 Things You Must Know" was a huge success!  More than 100 attendees heard from a panel of PRSA HR members on the things every PR professional needs to know to be successful in this industry.

Here are a few responses when we asked, "What prompted you to come to today's Hampton Roads PRSA meeting?"

I hadn't been to a meeting in awhile, so I thought I would start the new PRSA year off right.

I am currently a second year graduate student at Norfolk State, majoring in communications with a concentration on public relations.  The meeting's topic was perfect for me in that as graduation gets closer, I need to know what "10 Things I Need To Know."

I thought the panel was great.  I am a senior looking for job networking opportunities.

I'm new to the Hampton Roads area and interested in meeting, networking, and working with other PR individuals.  At this meeting I've had the opportunity to meet a diverse group of people.

Look for more valuable programs through this year and in 2008!

Looking Ahead: January Chapter Meeting

Transforming Managers Into Better Communicators, Even Leaders

Presented by James E. Lukaszewski, ABC, APR, Fellow PRSA, CCEP

Most managers above the supervisory level consider themselves to be good to excellent communicators, but those of us who are communicators know that one of the weakest areas in most organizations is communication to employees by managers and supervisors. Although many programs are available through different channels to address this weakness, too few genuinely help supervisors become better communicators.

This program is specifically designed to help ensure that participants return to their offices armed with proven communication techniques and strategies they can use to help align all levels of management, employ better communication techniques, and become even better leaders. This program will address six of the most difficult areas managers and supervisors face daily.

Stay tuned for more details and registration information.  This is a program not to miss!
