Get Away from the office and

go "Into the Wild" with PRSA!

Would you like to leave the craziness of your office behind and go "Into the Wild," even if just for one night? Then journey with the PRSA Hampton Roads chapter on Wednesday, November 7 as we leave civilization behind! Our excursion will take place at Distinctive Event Rentals. Whether you caravan with others or make the trek all by yourself, you will be transformed into another world on this wild and crazy night!

Upon your arrival, you'll follow tiki torch-lined sidewalks and be lured into the captivating building. There you'll be met with the sights and sounds of a lush tropical jungle. You'll be mesmerized by the marvelous Silent Auction items available to bid on. You'll be waited on hand and foot by staff of The Silver Palate Bistro and enjoy luscious cuisine such as "Sip of Soup" shots and Jerk Chicken Skewers drizzled with Key Lime Sauce (and more!) You'll engage in enticing conversation with other PRSA members, and embark on a tour of the facility if you'd like.

At the end of the night, you'll return to your typical American home, but maybe, just maybe, you will feel like you've just returned from another world! And you didn't even need a passport!

Will YOU be SPOTTED at this year's Social?  Don't MONKEY around, register today!

Note: Voting will be held at this meeting for 2008 chapter officers and board of directors and for amendments to the chapter bylaws.

Looking Ahead: January Chapter Meeting

Transforming Managers Into Better Communicators, Even Leaders

Presented by James E. Lukaszewski, ABC, APR, Fellow PRSA, CCEP

Most managers above the supervisory level consider themselves to be good to excellent communicators, but those of us who are communicators know that one of the weakest areas in most organizations is communication to employees by managers and supervisors. Although many programs are available through different channels to address this weakness, too few genuinely help supervisors become better communicators.

This program is specifically designed to help ensure that participants return to their offices armed with proven communication techniques and strategies they can use to help align all levels of management, employ better communication techniques, and become even better leaders. This program will address six of the most difficult areas managers and supervisors face daily.

Stay tuned for more details and registration information.  This is a program not to miss!
