At the April 7 meeting, members will vote on proposed amendments to the PRSA Hampton Roads chapter's by-laws, which are being recommended by the chapter Board of Directors. The proposed changes deal with the issue of Accreditation as it relates to chapter leadership. The intent of the changes is to expand chapter leadership opportunities to members who are not accredited.
The chapter remains committed to PRSA Accreditation and will continue to promote it and assist members who seek Accreditation. However, the pool of chapter members who are accredited is limited - and those willing and able to serve even smaller still. At the same time, there are talented and dedicated members who are not accredited but are ready to serve the chapter in leadership positions. The amendments would allow the chapter to take full advantage of all the resources available to us.
